Congratulations to Hendrik van der Leest,  who has become a Double Dutch record holder as he won his 200m backstroke event in spectaular style at the Dutch SC Nationals in Eindhoven. Hendrik, now the Dutch record holder in both 200m LC and SC events, stormed home in gold medal, record breaking time of 2:05.97. 3 gold medals in 50m, 100, and 200m backstroke events at these nationals along with other medals, are all reported in the news item on 'News from English and Dutch Nationals' . English Nationals Day 1 Heats And Finals  Great morning swims from the Woking sprinters saw both Brin Dorrell and Alex Smith storm through their heats to take a place in the B and A finals, respectively, in times of 24.20s and 22.68s respectively, over 0.5 sec PB for Brin to make his final. Our annual Fun Night on Sunday for our main squads saw lots of laughter, cheering, huge amounts of bribing and quite a lot of cheating! The Woking team had a home gala on Saturday for what was the third and final round of the Arena League. Woking hosted The annual Minor League fixture at Pool in the Park on Saturday 24th November and welcomed Haslemere, Farnham, and Alton.   Great team spirit and some huge effort by all the swimmers resulted in some great PB swims as swimmers clocked up the points for their club. Michael is now the Boys U15 British, European and World Biathle Champion! While most of our swimmers attended our half-term training camps at Mount Kelly and Crystal Palace, Michael and Isabella Gar were travelling much further afield to Egypt to take part in the Biathle World Championships. Competitors from all around the World (from India to Cyprus!) enjoyed fierce run-swim-run competitions in the hot Egyptian sun and cooling open water swims in the Red Sea.
