Without the usual set up from the normal Surrey County Championships usually held in February and March a new concept based around COVID-19 restriction was put in it place. Woking have risen to 6th place nationally after a strong performance in Round 2 of The National Arena Junior League 2021 and a huge congratulations goes to all those involved! Level X With our Level X well under way, I am delighted with how well the swimmers have been performing after so much time in ‘lock down’. For those that aren't already aware, and didn't get the chance to swim in the first series, Level X Racing allows swimmers to complete time-trials at their own pools, with results being collated across clubs and displayed on leaderboards when the series concludes. The latest virtual series runs between 12th April and 22nd August, with the over 18s/Masters edition opening on 17th May. The National Arena Junior Swimming League launched this year, with over 150 clubs competing across the UK & Ireland, and we're taking part! The league is for swimmers aged 9-12 years as at 31st December 2021 and aged at least 9 years old on the day. Events being swum include 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 50m breastroke and a variety of mixed relays (2 girls and 2 boys). The Surrey County Age Group event is being held during the Summer term, with individual clubs running the Surrey events short course in their own pool under Swim England Level X conditions. There will be no 1500m or 800m events, but there will be a 100 IM.
