Good luck to our Senior Swimmers heading off to University!

Woking SC Webmaster

A huge congratulations and good luck to both Finlay Tattersdill and Ollie Zalaf who leave our senior squad and head off to University this month.

Both Ollie and Finlay have been with the club from a very early age, working their way up through the squads, competing for over 12 years for Woking at our many club galas and were an integral part of our annual Arena team. Both achieved great team and individual success at both County and Regional level throughout their careers, along with teaching our younger swimmers. We thank them both for their many years of devotion to the club!

Three of our teachers, also past senior swimmers, also leave for University: Max Chitty, David Bindschedler and Amy Robins all progressed through their teaching qualifications to become Level 2 teachers and have been fundamental to our Learn to Swim (L2S)  and associate programme. We would like to thank all three of them for their many years as swimmers for Woking, also from a very early age, and their recent dedication to their teaching roles at the club.

We wish them all the best on their new adventures at University and hope you keep in touch!

  • Finlay is studying Biomedicine at Newcastle University
  • Ollie is studying Sports and Exercise Science at Coventry University
  • Max is studying Criminal Justice and Criminology at Leeds University
  • David is studying Accounting and Finance at Nottingham Trent University
  • Amy is studying Sports and Exercise Science at Bath University

Look out for our new Alumni page on the website (soon to be published) to see where our senior swimmers went after leaving WSC and a great showcase on how they all managed to balance their swimming and studies during their teenage years!
