On Sunday 7th October 2018, three Woking Swimmers travelled up to Sheffield with the Surrey Swim team to participate in this year's National County Team Championships.

Matthew Ferguson

Captain of the Surrey Swim Team and an experienced Surrey swim team member, swam the Boys 16/17 years 100m Freestyle, almost matching his short course PB with a time of 52.88s with such a strong swim so early in the season. Matthew also swam the freestyle anchor leg on the 4 x 50m Medley Relay, and the anchor leg on the Mixed 6 x 50m Squadron Relay.

Hendrik van der Leest

Hendrik has also previously represented Surrey and swam the Boys 14/15 years 100m Backstroke, touching just ahead of his previous time to form a new short course PB in a time of 1:00.71s. Hendrik also swam the backstroke leg in the Boys 14/15 years 4 x 50m Medley Relay.

Kiera Heney

Finally Kiera, who stepped up to represent Surrey for the first time in her swimming career, also produced a short course PB by going under the magic minute mark in the Girls 12/13 years 100m Freestyle producing a time of 59.99s. Kiera also swam the freestyle anchor leg of the Girls 14/15 years 4 x 50m Medley Relay and swam the 5th leg of the Mixed 5 x 50m Squadron Relay.

Well done Swimmers! We are very proud of you.
