Woking Girls Selected for 11yr County Development Camps Congratulations to Akane Hincapie, Chizara Elechi and Mana Tanaka, who, following their performances at Surrey County Championships, have been selected to participate in the 11 year old Surrey County Development Camps taking place over 3 individual day camps in April, July & October.    The Development Camps form part of the Swim England pathway which begin with County selection.    We are delighted for the girls and hope they have fun on the camps. News from British Championships, Edinburgh   By some miracle, the three Woking swimmers, Anna Maine, Ewan Smith and Matthew Ferguson, and coach Mark Staiger, managed to brave the elements and reach Edinburgh for the British Championships.  With many swimmers having done the same, the event organisers decided to go forward and hold the meet. Hendrik's Flying Start to a Bronze at Dutch Nationals   DAY 1 On the first full day of the Dutch Junior Short course Championships in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, Hendrik van der Leest had a fantastic start in his 100m fly race, flying to a fantastic 3rd place with a new PB of 1:04.38 thereby taking over a second off his recent personal best time. News from Winter SC Nationals, Sheffield   Day 1 Anna Maine was first up of the Woking swimmers in her favoured 100m backstroke event. A solid heat time saw her safely through to the afternoon's finals against the top senior swimmers in the UK, along with the vey top swimmers from Canada ( guest swimmers at Winter Nationals). Anna took nearly a second off her hear time to eventually place 6th in the final with a time of 1:01.98, with the Canadians taking two of the top slots.
