A host of swimmers of all ages competed in Corby 50m Olympic Open Meet on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th March. Swimming was of an excellent standard, taking a host of medals, gaining regional qualifying times and lifetime bests to boot! Well done to all the swimmers!

Our swimmers swam at the National Masters swimming competiton at Ponds Forge, Sheffield this weekend just gone. Well done to Cathy Thomson took the bronze medal in the 200 Backstroke in a time of 2 Mins.33 Seconds. Masters Competitions are for swimmers over the age of 18 years and in different age bands. Pete Brystow and Cathryn Thomson swam at the weekend of 1st October in the East Region Masters Regional Swimming Competition, both representing St Ives SC and performing superbly to take a combined haul of 8 Medals, 6 Gold and 2 Silvers. Cathryn won Gold in the 50 Backstroke in 33.32, 50 Freestyle in 29.10, 400 Freestyle in 4.51.03, 100 Freestyle in 1.03.26 and the 200 Free in 2.19.40. 3rd Round of the Junior Fenland League at Wisbech on Saturday 11th June. This was a pivotal round as it saw going into this leg the top 4 teams in the league, Wisbech, Boston, St Ives and March competing together. It was a hard fought, fast and furious competition particularly with St Ives and Wisbech vying for the top slot, with the other two teams battling it out for 3rd and 4th placings, in the end only 2 points separated Wisbech and St Ives, with the former taking first place....

Junior swimmers of the Club participated in the second round of the Junior Fenland League against Clubs from all over East Anglia. This time it was a home gala at St Ives against Ely, Mildenhall and Thetford. A night of fast and close racing ensued particularly between ourselves and Ely over the 45 events which saw swimmers from 9-13 years of age battle it out in all four strokes of Backstroke, Breastroke, Butterfly, Freestyle and the Individual Medley events too. William Roberts who has been selected to swim for Great Britain at the World Down Syndrome Swimming Championships in Portugal on 14 - 23 October 2022. Great results where Tessa Quayle swimming for the first time in a 50m pool made the finals in both the 50 and 100 metres breastroke events. She qualified 5th fastest for the 50m final and swam superbly to finish 4th, and during the day gained a new lifetime best time of 35.90. On the Sunday she then qualified 7th fastest for the 100m Breastroke final and she finished 6th in a superb lifetime best time of 1.22.20, 1.5 seconds faster than her heat qualifying time, great swims both against athletes...
