Success at JFL Round 2

Junior swimmers of the Club participated in the second round of the Junior Fenland League against Clubs from all over East Anglia. This time it was a home gala at St Ives against Ely, Mildenhall and Thetford.
A night of fast and close racing ensued particularly between ourselves and Ely over the 45 events which saw swimmers from 9-13 years of age battle it out in all four strokes of Backstroke, Breastroke, Butterfly, Freestyle and the Individual Medley events too. Great swims by our young athletes across the spectrum resulted in:
16 First Places
14 Second Places
6 Third Places
Stunning swims were raced by Tom McNeill, Lois Cannon, Fraser Weeden, Marli Taylor, Ross Burdett, Abigail Zajkowski, Tate Taylor, Edie Lewis, Aidan Megicks, Isla Hamilton, Ruby Edwards, Toby Jones, Erin Megicks, Issac Sharp, Felix Guy-Pinkney, Millie Smith, James Dolby, Zahra Lonsdale, Remi Curliss, Layla Burdett and Anna Gallagher resulting in the final score and placings of:
1st: St Ives: 164 Points
2nd: Ely: 161 Points
3rd: Thetford: 133 Points
4th: Mildenhall: 115 Points
Great Results & Great swimming with superb support for the young athletes from the St Ives Coaches, Val Cummings, John Burling and Oliver Rana Beadle and excellent organisation by all the Officials, Volunteers, St Ives Committee members and parents.
