After the amazing fundraising efforts last Summer, South Croydon Swimming Club’s initiative to support underprivileged and disadvantaged children (aged 5-11) from schools in Croydon learn how to swim has welcomed the first two swimmers, with more due to start soon. They have been having lessons regularly for the past few weeks and have been enjoying learning their new skill. Well done to the Octopus Team on their second place on the night. Lots of great swims and many PB's were recorded. SCSC currently stand second in the league with the final round on 2nd July.

SCSC Had 8 swimmers who qualified for the London Region Age Group (11-14) & Youth (15+) Swimming Championships 2022 Alex (12) swam 3 events 50m & 100m Back and 50m Fly and best place was 15th in both 50m/100m Back. Ocupus League Round 2 - After a great start in Round 1 the SCSC team were ready for a great evening's racing. After a team led warm-up, they swam their hearts out and placed First on the night. This placed SCSC joint 1st on league points but still 2nd on Gala points and therefore still second in the League standings. Well done everyone.

Surrey County Championship 2022 - Round up. Congratulations to the 11 swimmers who qualified. Andrei, Tom, Alex, Lucas, Harry, Ayo, Augustinas, Ethan, Henry, Lucy & Violet. Lots of PB's were recorded and for Alex a super bronze medal was won in the 12year old boys 50m Back.

Welcome back to the Octopus League 2022. Round 1 saw a lot of new faces join the team. SCSC got off to a flying start which saw many swimmers gain PB's and SCSC secured second place on the night.

Octopus League 2020-2021 Having stopped the Octopus league in March 2020 after only 2 rounds, the league managed to resume for one final gala in 2021. The league placings and points were carried over and SCSC were in second place going into the final gala. With a strong team fielded, SCSC were out to hopefully capture the title that they last won in 2013. Over the weekend of the 10 & 11 July 2021 the Surrey’s Age Group Summer Meet Finals took place. Swimmers from South Croydon SC, along with parents who volunteered to be covid marshals for the club, travelled to Surrey Sports Park for this fantastic event. Only swimmers who were ranked in the top 8 in the County were invited to compete. The event is incredibly competitive so to even be invited is a huge achievement. Many congratulations to Amy who attended the virtual camp over the weekend of 5th/6th December 2020. Amy was selected for the 200m Free group. The camp included technical, tactical and behavioural workshops as well and a cooking class, land training and a body analysis. Amy also attended a talk by Hannah Stoyel, Sports Psychologist, in November which was also arranged by the SE Talent Team.
