ARENA LEAGUE FINAL ROUND We travelled to Dover on what we knew would be a tough relegation battle to stay in Division 1. The London Swimming region held their Youth Championships at the London Aquatic Centre, otherwise known as the 2012 Olympic pool, over the weekend of 04 – 06 May and South Croydon Swimming Club had a team of 7 qualifiers for this tough competition. South Croydon SC Octopus Team competed in Round 2 of the League on Saturday 6th April 2019 at the Beckenham Spa and finished in a well deserved top spot after a very good evening of swimming. Great Team Effort and Spirit was evident after finishing in 2nd position in Round 1 and this will put the team into a good position ahead of Round 3. Amy Davies was selected to swim in the London Team from the 22-24 February at the McCuallagh International Meet, Bangor, Northern Ireland. Amy was swimming most of the freestyle events and relays and made the finals in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle and helped the London Ladies make it a clean sweep of the relays ! The 2019 Surrey County Swimming Championships got underway over the past weekend with the first of 6 galas taking place at the Surrey Sports Park Guildford. A total of 37 swimmers from South Croydon Swimming Club have qualified and entered the championships and the first weekend of competition saw 14 of them take to the pool. By the end of the weekend’s swimming the club was in 9th place in the team medal table, with swimmers having collectively won 4 Gold, 5 Silver and 4 Bronze medals. Individual highlights included:...

I was selected for the freestyle Swim England Talent camp at Millfield School just before Christmas with 45 other English 15/16 year old swimmers. We were split into groups, I was put into the 200 freestyle group with 2 other girls and 3 boys. The camp was a very busy four days, with 2 x 2hr swim sessions a day. In addition to the 16 hours of swimming I was also involved in 2 strength and conditioning sessions as well as talks about nutrition, arena skills and psychology of races,...

SCSC enjoyed a hugely memorable, enjoyable, special and successful evening on Saturday.1st December at the club's 10th Year Anniversary celebrations at Warlingham Rugby Club. Early December saw the final set of galas in the National Arena Swimming League season, with South Croydon Swimming Club triumphant in their match held at the Pavilions in the Park pool in Horsham.
