On Friday we finally launched our new diving blocks. Thanks to the kind and generous donations to our Crowdfunder campaign. The first swimmers Pete, Jude, Heath, Amelie, Harriet and Teilo took to the new diving blocks. Bobbie Wilson, our long standing Club President sounded the start signal. Five senior members of Stowmarket Swimming Club competed at various distances of the Regional Open Water Championships held at Whitlingham Adventure Park, Norwich on Sunday. With the water temperature in the lake being 21.5 degrees the wearing wetsuits was not permitted. Husband and wife duo Kim and Peter Lynch swam together in the 2 kilometre event with both becoming East Region Champions in their 60 plus age group. Impressive Performances By Stowmarket Swimmers ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nine swimmers representing Stowmarket Swimming Club competed at the Newmarket Masters Open Meet on Sunday winning a total of 22 medals. A huge well done to Francesca, Joseph,Teilo, Sam, Izzy, Becca and Matt who all competed in the East Region Festival of Swimming in Norwich this weekend. It has been 16 months since we last had the opportunity to race and it was great to be back with some PB's, a silver medal for Matt in 200m butterfly and 1st places in 100 butterfly and 100 freestyle.
