Harvey Williamson - Coaching Director

Heading up the City of Wakefield Swimming Club Programme is Coaching Director Harvey Williamson.

Harvey leads the way with a wealth of swimming experience both in and out of the pool. As a Level 2 qualified coach and successful former swimmer, Harvey knows what it takes to succeed at the highest level.

With multiple Yorkshire and NER medals, national finals and call-ups for inter-county competitions and ESSA Inter-divisional Championships, Harvey's track record speaks for itself. As a skilled coach, he has produced numerous Yorkshire and NER medalists, and was even selected as a Skills Coach on the County Talent Pathway, making him the youngest coach ever to be chosen.

Under Harvey's guidance, the City of Wakefield Swimming Club has undergone restructuring to establish strong foundations for aspiring athletes to compete at the highest level in national swimming. Our 98% personal best ratio across the 21-22 season, one British Finalist, and one English Silver Medalist demonstrate the club's upward trajectory.

As Harvey continues to aspire to complete his level 3 coaching qualification, his primary focus remains on turning Wakefield into an established Yorkshire Swimming City.

Rob Taylor - Head Coach

Rob began his swimming jouney here at Wakefield, before a short spell across the M62 at City of Leeds. During that time, Rob racked up consistent appearances at Both Yorkshire and NER level, with an appearance at Welsh Nationals being his personal highlight. 

Rob rejoined the club as a coach in October 2021 as head coach, and passed his Level 2 coaching Qualification with flying colours. Prior to taking up the role, Rob worked in Aquatic lessons over at Ponds Forge, which has been vital to the clubs recent successes, and the coninuity in coaching across the pathway. Working across all of our squads, Rob also had input into the successful 2021-22 season's 98% PB percentage, as well as our Age-Grouper's achievements at both English and British Nationals in the summer of 2022. (2 Qualfiers, 1 British Final, 1 English National Silver Medal).

Rob is committed to developing the swimmers at his home club meet their full potential. Working closely with Harvey, Rob takes huge pride in his coaching, and ensures that the foundations are there for our younger athletes to thrive from.

Terry Raddings - Coach

Terry joined City of Wakefield SC in April 2022, hitting the ground running and taking ownership of the delopment of our Swim Skills A Squad. Terry brings a whole host of experience to the club through his participation in Down Syndrome Swimming - Great Britain (DSS-GB), and as Head Coach of Special Olympics - Yorkshire & Humberside.

Terry is heavily involved with the planning of DSS-GB's overseas trips, such as the recent World Swimming Championships in Albuferia, Portugal. 

Perviously, Terry was a coach at Pontefract Marlins ASC and Minsthorpe Marlins ASC. Terry is dedicated to helping swimmers realise their potential - and maximise it.

Sarah Kinsey - Assistant Coach

Sarah Started her Wakefield Swimming journey at the single digit age of 9, and has been a member ever since.

She endurded a sucessful swimming career, Representing the club at County, Regional, and National Level, in fly and freestyle distance events, with a best national ranking of 11th (800 Free).

Sarah posesses a Level 3 coaching qualification, and offers plenty of CPD to our younger, inexperienced coaches and swimmers. 

Jennie Haswell - Assistant Coach

Jennie is a qualified Lifeguard, Level 2 Swimming Teacher and Level 1 Assistant Swimming Coach.

Since first getting involved at the club in 2021, Jenny has taken leadership in improving development Squads, and now leads them from a planning perspective under the guidance of coach Harvey.

Keen to get involved further, Jenny often stays behind after the Development squad sessions to get involved further up the programme.

Harrison Lee - Assistant Coach

Harrison is a qualified Lifeguard, Level 2 qualified Swimming Teacher, and Level 1 Coach.

Harrison swam with the club for many years and has a very impressive record achieving all County times for both the Winter and Spring competitions, along with a handful of regional times.

Following on form his success is a chlorinated pool, harrsion chose to brave the fresh and Salt water, becoming a successful triathlete with consitent showings on the International stage for Team GB Triathlon.

He holds a club championship record in 200m Fly, and often leads the way in the Triathlon off-season from Triathlon.
