Supporting swimmers across the Wakefield district

Harvey is a Level 2 qualified coach, with a wealth of swimming experience both in the pool and on-deck. Although short lived, he had a  successful swimming career, finalling at nationals several times, collecting multiple Yorkshire and NER medals, and being selected on several  selections for Inter-county competitions & ESSA Inter-divisional Championships. Harvey moved into poolside coaching at the backend of 2015 and progressively climbed the ranks within Doncaster’s pathway, becoming lead coach of the Junior Development Programme at the towns elite training scheme in November 2018. During his time at the helm of the Junior Development Squad, Harvey produced a high number of Yorkshire qualifiers and medallists, some of whom also gained NER qualifying times and top 10 finishes. As recognition for this, Harvey was selected as a Skills Coach on the County Talent Pathway for 2019 and 2020, becoming the youngest coach to ever be selected. Harvey will be taking the lead role in the restructuring at the club and overseeing all coaching related activities; ensuring athletes are provided with the foundations to compete at county level and above. Harvey aspires to complete his level 3 coaching qualification in the not-so-distant future; but primarily, Harvey’s sole focus is to develop City of Wakefield Swimming Club into a full pathway club.
