Last weekend saw many of our swimmers back at Hutton Moor for the Clevedon and Trident Meet. It was great to see a couple of new faces as well as our regulars in the pool. It feels like it’s been a while since Cheddar Kingfishers have been sat poolside cheering each other on. There were lots of PBs, some first-time swims and an impressive number of medals. I think, if I’ve counted correctly, we tallied up a total of 33 medals spread very evenly with 11 gold, 11 silver and...

Last Saturday evening we were again in the water for Round 4 of the Cotswold League 2023. It was hosted by the most amazing club with their fantastic new starting kit, Cheddar Kingfishers… oh yes, us! I experienced my first Team Manager Role and can honestly say I was really impressed with the behaviour, levels of excitement and organisation of the children. Fortunately for me I think nearly all the swimmers had a better idea of what they were doing than myself! As usual we had many swimmers swimming up...

Cotswold League 2023 – Round 3 Round 3 saw Kingfishers competing at Horfield at the weekend. Despite a much-reduced team they performed brilliantly – no DQs and no speeding tickets! It’s been lovely to hear nothing but praise for our swimmers. Many were required to ‘swim up’ and so were in events with children much older than themselves. They did so with a positive attitude and the coaches were impressed with their swims. A special mention goes to James Clark and Casper Lander who have only just joined the club...

Cheddar Kingfishers Swimming Club has enjoyed the last few months of swimming with great success. They swam to an amazing second place in the Cotswold League Final back in May, with the younger members of the team enjoying a fun afternoon of swimming in Bridgwater for the Four Seasons gala at the beginning of July. Many new faces were swimming at this event, all enjoying their first team gala experience. The club has also had a couple of fun events, including a Swimathon to raise funds for much needed new...
