Hall of Fame
Welcome to our Hall of Fame page. There are 4 Categories where members can be inducted into our Hall of Fame
Athlete
For an athlete to be inducted into the Hall of Fame they will fulfil one or more of the areas below:
- Must have had success in either of the criteria below and contributed to the development of Poole Swimming Club and the local swimming community to bring around positive change.
- International Athlete in a major Junior or Senior Championship.
- Broken and held British Records
- British Champion
- Must have extraordinarily contributed towards the development of Poole Swimming Club and the local swimming in an incredibly significant way over a period of time.
Volunteer / Administrator / Official
For a volunteer/ administrator or official to be inducted into the Hall of Fame they will fulfil one or more of the areas below:
- Must illustrate having made an extraordinary impact to the sport. The nomination must demonstrate why there is something special about the achievements an individual has made and show where they have made a significant difference.
- Long service is not part of the criteria. Although having achieved over a period is helpful, it is more about the outcomes and achievements. There must have been a demonstrable positive change brought about as a result of the individuals’ input.
Coach
For a coach to be inducted into the Hall of Fame they will fulfil one or more of the areas below:
- Enabled an athlete to break through to the levels stated below and contributed to the development of Poole Swimming Club, Dorset County ASA, Swim England South West or Swim England to bring around positive change.
- International Athlete in a major Junior or Senior Championship.
- Broken and held British Records
- British Champion
- Coached their region or country at an International competition and contributed to the development of Poole Swimming Club, Dorset County ASA, Swim England South West or Swim England to bring around positive change
- Coaching a Poole Swimming Club team to break through to the very highest levels of attainment and contributed to the development of Poole Swimming Club, Dorset County, Swim England South West or Swim England to bring around positive change
- Must have extraordinarily contributed towards the development of Poole Swimming Club and the local swimming in an incredibly significant way over a period time.
British Swimming or Swim England Annual Award Winner
Any recipient of an annual British Swimming or Swim England award will be automatically inducted into the Hall of Fame citing the reasons they earned such an accolade.
