Rory who achieved an impressive 12th place at the National Tetrathlon Championships in Warwickshire, and 3rd place in the team competition, assisted by a significant PB in his 3min swim. Very many congratulations to him - a well deserved reward for a lot of hard work, including at 6.30am training sessions.

We are delighted to hear that TSC member Rory has qualified for the National Championships in Pony Club tetrathlon, which will be taking place in Warwickshire in mid-August. Pony Club tetrathlon is the precursor to the Olympic sport of modern pentathlon and competitors perform in four different sports: shooting, swimming, riding and running. We announced Samuel Rice's selection for the National Development Programme but overlooked Amelia Fox's selection for the County Development Programme, the first step on the talent pathway. The news came out in March, so was missed in the drama of lockdown. Huge congratulations to Amelia, who was chosen on the basis of several very impressive performances in the Devon championships, as well as to James for getting not one but two swimmers on to the talent pathway this year. Amelia can be seen here putting her all into land-training in...

Samuel Rice has been selected to attend the Swim England National Development Programme. Congratulations to Samuel, and to coach James, on this very exciting news. The National Development Programme is the third step on the Swim England talent pathway and takes only 288 swimmers, aged 13-14. This year all programme activities will be delivered via Zoom, but Samuel will participate in a day long workshop covering technical and other skills.

Twenty-eight of our swimmers have been in action at Plymouth Life Centre over the past couple of weekends, having qualified for the Devon County Championships. They've put in some excellent performances: numerous personal best times achieved, 24 finals reached and three medals won. There have also been impressive displays of resilience, with people putting disappointing performances behind them and going on to surprise themselves in a later race. Very many congratulations to all; and thanks to the volunteer team managers and officials, without whom we wouldn't be allowed to participate....
