Twenty-eight of our swimmers have been in action at Plymouth Life Centre over the past couple of weekends, having qualified for the Devon County Championships. They've put in some excellent performances: numerous personal best times achieved, 24 finals reached and three medals won. There have also been impressive displays of resilience, with people putting disappointing performances behind them and going on to surprise themselves in a later race. Very many congratulations to all; and thanks to the volunteer team managers and officials, without whom we wouldn't be allowed to participate....

Our head coach being was ambushed poolside at Meadowlands on Monday evening, and presented with a variety of presents and TWO cakes to mark his birthday. The swimmers who had just finished training made short work of the cakes (helped by a few parents and committee members)!

Yesterday, at Meadowlands Pool we were formally presented with a cheque for the very generous sum of £313.20 from the Lions Club of Tavistock. We are delighted with this grant, which has allowed us to buy training fins in various sizes suitable for the younger swimmers. Thank you very much to the Lions Club, and to Lisa and Emily for their work in putting together the application. Photograph by Steve Grummitt

Last weekend was the first weekend of our sprint club championships. It was wonderful to see so many swimmers taking part, from our very youngest to the Head Coach. Lots of PBs were set, and plenty of experience gained, in a great atmosphere: our swimmers certainly know how to cheer as well as to swim! Very many thanks to everyone involved, especially the helpers and officials without whom the event would not have been possible. We are particularly grateful to our referee, Mark Philipson. The cake stall went down well...

The first weekend in November saw seven swimmers qualify for the south west regional championships at Millfield. Competition was fierce at this high level and the swims were tough, but they did themselves and the club proud, by fighting hard and improving their positions. For most it was their first winter regional championship and for one swimmer it was their very first time at regional. All coped admirably with the pressure and produced excellent performances: there were several personal best times and the rest were just outside their PBs by...

Hundreds of PBs achieved, many medals won, and a 100% experiences gained! It was so great to see a mix of swimmers there, young and older ones; everyone cheering and watching each other. Helping each other, to gain confidence to say, "I can!" Well done everyone! I'm looking forward to seeing the full results of the competition. And if this one was this good, I can’t...
