The swimming season runs in line with the school year of September to July. During the season our swimmers have many opportunities to compete at appropriate levels of swim meet and we encourage them to do so.

Our squads are set-up to reflect objectives and expected outcomes for the swimming year. We endeavour to match swimmer talent and potential with a squad that will stretch them appropriately over the course of the season.

Your child may have opportunities to swim on-island, in Guernsey and in the U.K. or further afield as they move through the competitive squads and achieve the necessary qualifying times for those meets. However, we are equally keen to encourage swimmers who just wish to improve their stroke and use swimming as a means of maintaining high levels of personal fitness through our Fitness squad.

The competitive season is driven by Amateur Swimming Association events and builds through County and Regional events up to National standard. From our season start in September, we commence with local competitions, the Tigers Open Meet and a first round of The JASA Island Championship series. We also try to fit an away Open Meet into the programme in the run-up to Christmas.

Turning into the new calendar year, Channel Island Championships (late-January) and the 2ndweekend of the JASA Island Championship series provide further Hampshire County qualification opportunities. We go to Hampshires in March followed by our own Easter Open Meet.

Moving into the Summer term, South East Regional Championships is quickly upon us and the final weekend of JASA Island Championships will be around this time too.  The Barracudas Open Meet in Guernsey takes place around the end of June before we close out the season with our top swimmers heading off to British Nationals.
