Clevedon Amateur Swimming Club (Clevedon ASC) are committed to ensure that the principles of equity and inclusivity are incorporated across all aspects of its activities and development. Clevedon ASC are fully supportive of Swim England’s commitment to the principles and practice of equality of opportunity, as laid out in their Equality and Diversity Policy ref: SE1027.

Sports equity is about fairness in sport, equality of access, recognising inequalities and barriers to inclusion and taking positive steps to address them. It is about changing the culture and structure of sport to ensure it becomes equally accessible to everyone in society.

Clevedon ASC respects the rights, dignity and worth of every person and will treat everyone equally within the context of their sport, regardless of age, ability, appearance, gender, race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexuality, social / economic status or political persuasion.

Clevedon ASC is committed to everyone having the right to enjoy their sport in an environment free from threat of discrimination, intimidation, harassment, bullying, victimisation and/or abuse be that in person or online.

Clevedon ASC will work to remove barriers to inclusion, be they actual or perceived, alongside North Somerset Council and those organisations we work closely with such as Places Leisure (Clevedon Leisure Centre), Backwell Leisure Centre and other swimming locations used for training or competing.

All members of Clevedon ASC are supported in, and have a responsibility, to challenge discriminatory behaviour and promote equality of opportunity.

Clevedon ASC will deal with any incidence of discriminatory behaviour seriously, in accordance with the ASA Code of Ethics, guidelines for internal disputes and judicial laws.
