Squad Criteria This squad is usually for 14yrs and above or if you are a swimmer with potential, you should be able to show competency and stamina in front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke. You will be expected to get Regional or National qualifying times in this group. Working in this squad will have a huge affect on performance, strength, skill & fitness. An attendance register will be taken at the start of every session. Swimmers will improve in technique, growth and training. This squad requires the ability to swim freestyle 2X50m of 0:50, ability to swim 12X50m kick of 1min, 400m freestyle under 6 mins, 200 fly without breaking stroke. The expected attendance for Regionals squad is 90% per week. |

Working on improving technique regularly can drastically improve your overall swimming efficiency, speed, and confidence in the water. Technique in swimming is so vital that being able to move through the water efficiently. Training Ethos Training is extremely important to a swimmers development. The swimmers ability to train well will have a direct impact on their progression. At a-squad level swimmers you need to have the right mental attitude, you have to want to train to improve. Sessions will be challenging but in order for performance to increase, these sessions must be met with the right mental attitude to gain the maximum benefit. Many also form strong long term friendships within the club. Some of our older swimmers get involved in coaching themselves and can also use the club to support their GCSE Physical Education course work. At all time the code of conduct should be followed. Racing Racing techniques will be taught as the swimmer progresses through the swim program, the further through the program the swimmer goes the more advance the training will be to them enable to compete at regional or national level. Land Training (by invitation only)If you are asked. you should attend all land training sessions. These sessions are essential in assisting to increased core stability, strength exercises, improved flexibility of the body. Sunday Land Training 6:00pm 1 hour So who looks after the administration for the coaches?
