Wolverhampton Swimming Club

End of an era and a new one beginning

Gary BARNES

Christmas this year will be very strange in many ways and it will also mark the end of an era at Wolverhampton Swimming Club as our long serving coach Tim Munro leaves us after some 11 years of excellent service. Not just a coach, Tim has been a true friend and supporter of the club and his time on poolside has benefitted all of our swimmers in many ways.

During the last few years, Tim has developed and nurtured our junior swimmers which has resulted in establishing a pathway for these swimmers to progress into our main squad, something that will continue because of this commitment.
There are many swimmers both past and present who will no doubt have countless happy memories of Tim, due to the special rapport he had with them. As well as a coach and mentor he would often be the shoulder to cry on, providing sound advice and mentoring.

We all wish Tim the very best for the future.

Now to carry on the work with our junior swimmers we are pleased to announce that Teresa Peniket will now take on the Junior Squad Lead Coach role moving forward. We are sure Teresa will do a fantastic job of nurturing and developing our younger swimmers to a good standard so that they can then progress into our Development Squad when ready. We are sure you will all give Teresa your full support as she embarks on the difficult road of following on from Tim.
