Wells SC win the Four Seasons gala!

Duncan Verel

The younger swimmers from Wells swimming club proved they are a force to be reckoned with recently when they took on swimmers from Cheddar Kingfishers, City of Bristol, Clevedon, Burnham and Bridgwater swimming clubs in the first Four Seasons gala of the season at Hutton Moor leisure centre.  All the swimmers were aged between 8 and 12 years old and some were competing for the very first time.  However they refused to be overawed by the occasion and put in some amazing performances with a huge number of first and second places!

Wells made a cracking start to the gala with Imogen Smith and Max Banwell both winning the 12 year olds 100m individual medley.  The team was in contention for 1st place all the way through as the lead swapped between Wells and Clevedon but towards the end the Wells relay teams were fantastic and took 4 first places from the last 6 races!

Swimmers for the girls team included Macy Hillman, Ornella Fazzi, Lottie Cavill, Elodie Matthews, Sian Davies, Brianna Davies, Pippa Kane, Lily Clark, Daisy Pruden, Ellen Coxon, Layla Matthews, Bliss Sumbler and Imogen Smith.  For the boys Wells had Albi Fazzi, Ralph Sweeney, Daniel Smith, Charlie Jones, Ewan Verel, Isaac Coxon, Joshua Fairey, Josh White, Gabriel Chatard, Seth Sweeney, Lachlan Taylor, Teo Fazzi, Max Banwell and Sam Cavill.  Thanks should also go to senior swimmers Ferdia Kane and Cameron Taylor for helping out with their younger team mates and to Dave Clark and Marisa Taylor for managing the team.
