Karsten Temple Juniors Coach (Level 2 Teacher) I've always been around water and joined my local club when I was 10. Although I didn't continue with the sport I did continue getting my bronze medallion and other lifesaving skills. At 16 I came back onto poolside to teach the younger children in their Learn to Swim programmes. My mum was head coach and I took my coaching awards over the next few years. 25 years later and I have been teaching and coaching for almost all of those years. I love watching children and adults perfect the strokes and gain a bigger understanding of the sport. As the junior coach I use my teaching skills to perfect the strokes while increasing the stamina that the children have in the water.

Sarah Purdie Coach (Level 2 Teacher, Assistant (Level 1) Coach) I grew up in Plymouth and was a Devon county level swimmer as a young person. I qualified as a Swimming (Level 2) Teacher in 1991, and taught at Dinnaton Swimming Club in Ivybridge, Devon for a few years. I let swimming and teaching/coaching lapse for a fair few years, but when my son joined Wells SC, it gave me the opportunity to get back on poolside (and in the pool on occasion with the Masters). I am now also qualified as an Assistant (Level 1) Coach.

Marisa Taylor Coach (Assistant (Level 1) Coach) I swam from an early age until my teens for Richmond-upon-Thames Swimming Club including at both Middlesex and Surrey Counties. When my son started swimming for Wells SC in 2014 it was also a great opportunity for me to join Masters. I have since qualified as an Assistant (Level 1) Coach and a Team Manager and I was a skills coach on the Somerset ASA County Development Programme for 11 year old in 2019. I love seeing the progression within the squads and sharing the swimmers excitement when they compete. |
